Hindus wish  the bonding between weds to be like bonding between Ram and Sita. Why is Ram-Sita relationship considered an ideal? let us look at instances where Ram has shown commitment to Sita  Ram happens to see Sita in a garden when he came to partake in the Swayamvar. He is so attracted by Sita  that he decided to marry her alone.  After marriage Ram declares that he won't have any more queens. The kind of commitment he shows to the marriage institution is exemplary and has become an ideal for Indians for centuries Ram's trust in Sita is unwavering . One great value Ram has propagated is being great son of Dasrath. He is considered  a very affectionate son and one who follows every instruction of his father. One quality which is always talked about Ram is  about following his father's instruction always. He left his throne and went to forests to fulfill Darath's  promise to his wife Kaikai. His stay in forests foregoing his inheritance is ultimate sacrifice. He never budged from his vanvas even after pleading by repentant Kaikai. Do you need this amount of sacrifice  for respect to parents unmindful of consequences. It may be not practical for  every son and daughter to be obedient to every instruction. Many a times parents are not wise like Dasrath as they can be petty and dangerous like Kaikai. Mature children may have to understand the justification and act appropriately. I am taking DD Ramayan  as the basis of discussion. Ramanand Sagar made this serial mainly based on valmiki's Ramayan which is authentic. This discussion would be based on Hindu spiritual values and as such non hindus can skip it. I would be addressing SriRam as Ram and Mata Sita as Sita for the flow of reading even though my devotion to them is supreme. I urge the readers to watch DD Ramayan in full as it is authentic narration of Lord Ram's life. Needless to say Ram led a humanly life without the consciousness of being avatar of Bhagvan Vishnu to demonstrate  us a virtuous life of love , dharma , duty, sacrifise etc to live. How do we perpetuate this wonderful values to future generations ?
